he blinks down, frowns as he tugs at the fabric near his wrist. a splotch of red crusts at the hem.

'look, bud. i'm not here 'cause i wanna be tossin' ya around like a rag doll. whea'h's the money ya owe, huh? we know ya got it.' talking, charming, asking nicely never works.

he picks at the blood as he walks. remus is at his side, blue eyes at a soft glow to pick up any someone or something that might be following him. (they're both careful like that.)

[attr="class","augpost"]remus extends a hand and pokes his way to an alleyway to their left. something rummages in the garbage. augustus squints, eyes the brown and blue coloring of a hitmontop. the lucario waits for an order, but august waves his hand.

"let it be. it doesn't look very useful," he says. he's picky about his partners. remus is all he's ever needed. and maisey's made herself a welcome presence in his life, even if she prefers lazing in front of the fireplace than being called to battle.

[attr="class","augpost"]remus smiles this time and trots off in front of august. the man follows at a quickened pace and manages to catch the lucario at the tail end of a scuffle with a combusken.

"you know we're a team, right? you're meant to listen to my orders." but when they're out and about like this, when august isn't squaring off against a human, that's when remus takes control. the lucario has to blow off steam every once in a while.

or, at least, that's why august thinks he does the things he does.

still, he sighs as he toes at the unconscious bird. they can't leave it like this. he grumbles as he drops a pokeball. "did it even put up a good fight?" remus shrugs.
